Now located in Northern California, Francesco and Kristina welcome studio visits. It's a gorgeous drive, about 2.5 hours from San Francisco, 1 hour north of Calistoga and the Napa Valley, nestled in the high elevation wine country overlooking the spectacular lake and mountains. Come view the art, collect a piece, or take a class in the art of mosaic.
Francesco Cafiso studied the art of mosaic in his native Italy. His course work included several resoration projects in both Italy and Northern Africa.
After completing his studies, he moved to France, where he became a member of the program "Ville et Metiers D'Art", opening his gallery Mille Colori in Evian les Bains, with his partner Kristina Della Valle.
It was in Evian that Francesco starting working with glass, color, and light. He created a new style of light sculpture, or lamp, which became his signature work. His lamps are in collections around the world.
